With over 2 decades in the film business, she is a legendary hair department head of epic films including many MARVEL favorites- and of course Black Panther and Wakanda Forever. I loved this episode because I caught Camille directly after she received some news that at one time would've sent her spiraling, but instead she offers strength and advice for artists who have to handle the roller coaster ride better known as their career. Hair Department Head
At the age of 17, Friend moved to Los Angeles from her hometown of Tempe, Arizona, and began a
professional hairstyling career that has already spanned over two decades.
An Oscar Nominee and an Emmy Award nominee and member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Friend’s diverse and impressive film, television, print and music video credits read like a well-developed script. Recent projects include Wakanda Forever, Black Panther,The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, The Hateful Eight, Dreamgirls, Captain America: Civil War, Django Unchained, Miles Ahead and The Help.
She has designed hair looks for all eras, from the pop past to the fantastical future and many stops in
between. Friend’s expertise with lace front wigs has earned her a reputation for excellence with period
looks and led to working with an impressive list of luminary entertainers such as Elizabeth Banks, Samuel L. Jackson, Julianne Moore and Don Cheadle, to name a few.
A coveted position with Sebastian International as a platform instructor and color specialist,
combined with Vidal Sassoon and John Atchinson training to learn and master precision haircutting
techniques, helped prepare Friend for her success in the entertainment industry. New ventures in
product development and the launch of Hair Scholars assure that her star continues to rise.
